koneko was new york's first cat cafe. from 2015 to 2026 we poured coffee, served japanese snacks, and introduced a lot of people to a lot of cats at 26 clinton street on the lower east side. the cafe closed on july 31, 2026. we're still here online -- a little merch, the newsletter, and news on the cats still looking for homes. thank you for eleven years, for every head scritch, every lap offered, and every cat who left here with a family and loving forever home.
